The 2016 Contemporary Forum Grant Recipients Exhibition opened to great fanfare on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. A little bit about the program: Each year CF awards up to five grants to emerging artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, installation, new media, performance, photography or video. The grant is designed to assist artists who will significantly benefit from public recognition and financial support. The grants are made possible through the Nathan Cummings Foundation Endowment and funds from Contemporary Forum. I am so honored to have received a grant from Contemporary Forum this year. And, I am in good company. Fellow artists and friends who received an Artist Grant this year include David Emitt Adams, Christine Cassano, Bryan David Griffith and Mary Meyer. In addition, we will exhibit our new work in a group show at the Phoenix Art Museum in the Spring of 2017.    Each year, Contemporary Forum provides assistance to artists via the Artists Grants Program. What a nice way to end 2015! I recently received a message from an Arts and Culture writer for Phoenix New Times. Lynn Trimble had come out to see my exhibition Place Out of Time, at the Icehouse on First Friday, December 4th.  She let me know that night that she enjoyed seeing my work, and that of Jayme Blue's. I made the 2014 100 Creatives List. Every other year,  Phoenix New Times' Culture Blog Jackalope Ranch puts the spotlight on 100 of the city's creative forces.
